Something that came up when I started using Squarespace Campaigns was there is no real way to create a template for all your newsletter emails. Obviously we don’t want to design a new email every time we send out a newsletter to our email list as it would cost too much time.
And by sending out the same email style and being consistent it helps people remember you and know who is sending them an email even without reading it.
So this is how I created my own email template for Squarespace campaigns.
First of all you go to -> Marketing -> Email Campaigns to access Squarespace Campaigns.
Once there you go ahead and create an email newsletter layout that you like.
You click on -> Create -> Select Blast and choose from one of the pre-designed layouts or start from scratch.
If you are choosing to go with a pre-designed email - > click on a layout and -> edit this design.
You can now design the email you like by clicking on -> Style and you are able to change colors, fonts, background colors, change the padding around blocks and of course add your logo and so much more. You can just need to play around a little bit.
In order to access a certain style part you need to click on the block you want to change and it’s options will appear on the left. So if you want to change the text block, you hover over it, see the blue lines and click on in and on the right you will see all the options you have.
It is especially important to design a header and a footer that you want to use for every email in order to be consistent and recognizable.
You can add your logo or an image in the header. In the footer you need to add your legal address obviously and it is good to show your social icons as well as your website. You can take out the Squarespace badge on the core plan or higher.
If you want to show your photo or your logo you need to click on branding and you can choose between the two and just plain text there.
Once finished with your design you don’t send it to your list but click on Email and instead of writing a headline for this email you name your template for example Newsletter Template.
Now you click on -> Dashboard to return there. And you will see that your Newsletter Template email is in your drafts.
When you want to send out a newsletter the next time you just go to drafts, click on your Newsletter Template, click on the three dots and select duplicate.
Now you can go and use the duplicated email to add your content for this week and send it out as usual to your mailing list.
