We hear it all the time: we should start a blog for our website, blogging is great for SEO, having a blog for our website is essential. In this blog post I want to examine why blogging is so good for a website and not only for SEO.

The complete guide to blogging on Squarespace

The complete guide to blogging on Squarespace

One of the pre-assumptions of Squarespace is that Squarespace is not ideal for blogging. I’ve heard that a lot. And everyone thinks Wordpress is the go to solution for blogging.

I have blogged on Wordpress and I have designed a few wordpress blogs and now I am personally blogging for two blogs on Squarespace and have designed many blogs on Squarespace. And I love blogging on Squarespace. I don’t find it restricting and can highly recommend it. Especially when you are looking for an easy solution where everything is taken care for you. With Squarespace you don’t have to worry about updates and backups and if you have a problem you can contact their great customer service team.

So in this post I want to show you how you can write your blog with Squarespace.

How to use Summary Blocks for your Squarespace Website

How to use Summary Blocks for your Squarespace Website

One of the myths about Squarespace is that Squarespace is not good for blogging. That is definitely not true. You can use Squarespace perfectly fine for blogging. I think this misconception is partly because many people don’t know about summary blocks and don’t know how to automatically display recent blog posts or specific categories of blog posts on different pages so they shy away from blogging on their Squarespace website.

To sum it up, Squarespace summary blocks can be used for blog pages and also for product pages to display a predefined selection of blog posts or products in a specific page and place on your website.

In this blog post I wrote about how to use the summary blocks and what I use them for.

It also includes a video tutorial on how to use them.

How to write copy that converts for your website

How to write copy that converts for your website

Everyone can write. However not everyone can actually write good copy for a website. Writing a letter and writing the copy for a website is not the same. Also just the prospect of having to write a marketing piece for a website or a catalogue can make people’s minds go blank.

Many of my clients ask me if I can write the text for their websites. And everytime I am super sorry to say that I don’t. My first language is not English and many of my native English clients can probably write better than me.

However more importantly I am not a copywriter. (I am not so sure I could write the copy for my clients in German to be honest.)

Copywriting is a skill and a profession and how to write good copy for a website that converts visitors into buyers takes time to learn. I am not saying that you can’t learn it and do it yourself, I just want to be honest that there are big differences out there when I look at websites.
